2018 Remodeling Trends

Industry research and experts predict a continued stream of remodeling projects this year. Kitchen and bath remodels are still the most popular, followed by other interior remodels. Additions rounds out the top 3 type of projects predicted for 2018.
You may be updating an old home to current standards or looking to push modern technology with connected devices and electronics. Here are a few things to consider as you think about your upcoming project.
Technology: Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity are everywhere. Connected TVs, wifi thermostats like Nest, personal assistants (Google Home anyone?) and wifi cameras are all on our list of tech trends for remodels.
Social: Your home is likely used to gather friends and family in addition to providing for your daily living needs. Designing spaces around groups and connecting people will continue to trend in 2018.
Color: Color is always considered when designing, but what is new for this year? Purple is trending and the always popular black accents are being seen as well. Lighting: Natural light is always welcome and fixtures can be a great design element in addition to the light they provide. You should consider the lighting options you want and work them into your overall design. Don’t forget the technology piece with this one, it’s not just about dimmers and timers.
